39.3 Miles!!
For a few years my sister and I have talked about doing the Avon Breast Cancer walk, in support of our grandmother Marianne, aunt Karen and Great Aunt Sally - all of who have battled breast cancer on our Dad's side of the family. Our schedules finally worked out this year, and so we signed up for the 2012 Avon Rocky Mountain Breast Cancer Walk. The walk started early in the morning (6:15am) on Friday morning in Keystone, and from there we walked 26.2 miles (a full marathon) to Frisco. That night we camped in Frisco and then were up bright & early again the next morning to walk an additional 13.1 miles to end our walk in Keystone. It was an amazing experience, one that we won't forget - and neither will our feet, knees or legs!!
The longest road ever.... Had to walk straight up hill for 4 miles and then back down the same road for 4 more miles.
Weren't sure we would ever see this mile marker. :)
We made it through the first day, 26.2 miles down!! Could barely walk that evening, and had to head to medical triage to have them pop our blisters and bandage us up to walk the next day. We were "easy" compared to most people visitng the triage tent.
Up and ready to start day #2! Luckily we had a lot of entertainment along the way both days to help pass the time, we ended up being on the road walking for a total of 13 hours and walked 83,611 steps (according to my pedometer).
And we did it, 39.3 miles in 2 days!! Such a rewarding experience, one that we will always remember! And we had some cute guys waiting for us at the finish line each day. :)
THANK YOU to everyone who donated and supported us, I so appreciate it and can't thank you enough!!
Portland
We took our annual summer trip out to Oregon, and had so much fun! This time we were able to celebrate a very good friend’s wedding and also Father’s Day!!
We took a day trip up to Multnomah Falls, the boys were amazed by the waterfalls and we lucked out with a beautiful day!
We were so happy that we could be at Elizabeth’s wedding, one of my best friends since elementary school; it was a beautiful wedding and so much fun catching up with all of my friends.
It was a great Father’s Day celebrating Jason and Grandpa Steve, the boys even helped Grandma Molly decorate one of Grandpa’s presents. ☺
T-Ball!
Jake had a great 2nd season of t-ball, and loved having Dad as the assistant coach!! He played really well and had a fun team! Tyler really wanted to be a part of the team, so he made sure to keep busy “helping” each game. ☺

Surprise!!
Jason’s mom recently turned 60 (though you would never know! ☺ ) and his Dad planned a surprise birthday party – which was a huge success! We were so glad that we could be there to celebrate with her!!
Children's Museum Birthday Bash!!
Well, after almost a year of planning, this year's Birthday Bash fundraiser for the Children's Museum of Denver was amazing!! Taryn was a chair of the entire event, and somehow convinced me to be a co-chair of the entire silent auction. I'll have to admit that it was a lot of work, but it was all worth it when we raised record amounts of $$ this year!! The event itself was so much fun, and we had a great night with lots of good friends.
A little fun in the photo booth :)
