Happy Halloween - we hope everyone had a great day!! Jake enjoyed Halloween, despite getting over a "bug". He went trick-or-treating with Dad, and about five other families from our street. As you can see from the pictures, he was very cute dog - though he wasn't quite sure he liked wearing the hood part...

World Series!!!
Last night Jason and I had the opportunity of a lifetime - we went to Game 4 of the World Series!! As disappointed as we are that the Rockies lost, the experience of being there for the game was amazing. It was also very nice for Jason and I to have an "adult" night out, which we don't get very often anymore. :)
Jake headed over to our neighbors house for the night, but not before Dad tried to teach him how to say "Homerun"!!
Jason and I took the lightrail downtown, since they were charging between $50-$100 for parking.
Then we met some friends at Breckenridge Brewery for a few drinks before heading into the busy stadium.
Once we were in the stadium we found our seats, which were some of the best you could have - right at third base, about 20 rows up!
We stayed until the last pitch hoping the Rockies might pull through & win, but unfortunately the Red Sox swept the series with a win. What an experience, one that we'll remember for a long time!!

Jake's First Birthday Weekend!!
Jake is now officially 1-Year Old!! It's hard to believe that it's been a whole year since Jake surprised us and came 4.5 weeks early, but we've loved every minute of it and continue to be amazed at how Jake changes daily. He is such a sweet "little guy", whose smile is contagious to everyone around him.
We had a very busy weekend celebrating, beginning with Jason and my 5th Wedding Anniversary on Friday. We haven't been able to celebrate yet since Jason was traveling for work, but he did surprise me by sending me lovely flowers first thing that morning!
Then Saturday, Jake's actual birthday, we started the day off by heading to the pumpkin patch! It was a beautiful day, and Jake had a lot of fun riding around in his new red wagon and watching all the other kids running around. He picked out a few pumpkins to take home with us, and of course "put up" with his Mom and posed for some pictures. :)
Later that day Jason's parents, sisters, and brother-in-law came over to celebrate the big day. Jake was lucky enough to open a few more presents, and of course to have cake again!!

Jake's First Birthday Party!!

This past weekend we had Jake's First Birthday Party, one week before his actual birthday. My sister, nephew, and brother-in-law were very nice and flew out for the party - Jenny & Drew came out a few days early so we headed up to Keystone, CO for a few days to relax before the big party! We had a great time in the mountains, and even found a nice park close by for Drew to run off some energy at. :)

The party was a lot of fun, we had a lot of great friends show up to help Jake celebrate. Jake had his own special cake, which he throughly enjoyed! He also received some really great presents, he couldn't decide which was more fun - opening them or playing with them once they were open! :)

There are lots more pictures from the party, copy and paste this link to check them out:

Stayed tuned next week for more details and pictures of his actual brithday on 10/20!!

Lots & Lots of Football!!
This past weekend was a fun-filled football weekend, including Jake's first football game!! CSU was playing Cal, and we were hoping that Jake would bring the team good luck since Cal was ranked in the top 10... The luck was there, but not quite enough to bring the big upset - but CSU only lost by 6 points, which is pretty darn good!!
Jake did great (and I promise he did have pants on for the game) - he loved cheering and all of the people watching (just like his Mom)!! Jake's teething pretty bad right now, so anything to chew on really helps! :)
Then of course on Sunday was the first season game for the Broncos, Jake again cheered on the team from home with Dad. This one the Broncos pulled out a win at the last minute, Go Broncos!!
Looks like we know how our weekends are going to be spent for the next few months...

Labor Day Weekend!!
We had a very busy weekend last weekend, starting bright & early Saturday morning for the Rocky Mountain Showdown (Colorado State University vs. University of Colorado) at Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium. Jake stayed at home with Aunt Rachelle and Grandma & Grandpa...but he made sure he got into the football spirit before Mom and Dad left!!
And to make the game even more fun, Taryn got field passes for some of us...so Jason and Doug thought they were coaches and ran up & down the field with the team the whole game. Very fun for them!!
Kelly and Jace hung back a little bit, and even hung out with "Cam the Ram" under the stands. Unfortunately, CSU didn't quite make it and lost in overtime...very big bummer for us. But, every year this is a great game and close down to the wire. Next year, watch out for CSUI!!!
Very hard to believe that Jake will be a year old in just over a month!!
