Jake's Visit to See Santa...

Well, after two hours of waiting in line, Jake finally got to see Santa! (Good lesson for Mom & Dad: go early in December next year!) Jake was very good, and wasn't scared of Santa like many kids in line before him...

He just wasn't sure at first who he was. :)

Here are a few more pictures...

Happy 30th Birthday Jason!!

Well, Jason is now the big 3-0!! And of course I love that I am younger than him, even if it is only 6 months. :) To celebrate, Jason and I had a rare night out on the town, where we had a delicous dinner at The Keg (Jason's favorite) and then stayed the night downtown at The Magnolia (where we stayed the night of our wedding). We had a great night & knew that Jake was in good hands at home with Aunt Rachelle.

Fun Day Out for Jake!

Last week, when the weather was cold, Jake & I really wanted to get out of the house for awhile. So, Jake invited his friend & neighbor Grace (and her mommy Alesha) to join us at the Denver Children's Museum. The four of us had a great time, the kids played harm and wore themselves out! For all of those Moms here in the Denver area, I would definitely recommend the museum for kids 9+ months, they are at least sure to sleep good that night. :)

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Jake had a wonderful 2nd Thanksgiving - hard to believe that last year Jake was barely 5 pounds!! The original plan was for Jason and me to host Thanksgiving at our house for my Mom & her husband Steve, and Jason's family - but unfortunately with me getting so sick I wasn't quite up to it. So, our wonderful friend Taryn invited all of us to her house, along with some other good friends. We had a great time and delicious food!! We missed all of our family that we couldn't share the day with...

My mom and Steve stayed just under a week, we had a great time and they were a huge help with Jake while I recovered. Jason and Steve braved the cold weather and went to the CSU vs. Wyoming game, we had our friends Jace & Doug who were in town from Arkansas over for dinner one night, and got our house all ready for the Holiday Season!

On a side note, I want to thank all of you who have been so nice with all of your cards and good thoughts as I recover. An update as of this morning is that I finally had my IV line taken out today, after having IV antibiotics for three weeks!! I now just have to wait to make sure that I don't get a fever again or that my headaches don't get worse (I still get slight ones each day). So, keep your fingers crossed that I am on my way back to 100%! :)

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween - we hope everyone had a great day!! Jake enjoyed Halloween, despite getting over a "bug". He went trick-or-treating with Dad, and about five other families from our street. As you can see from the pictures, he was very cute dog - though he wasn't quite sure he liked wearing the hood part...

World Series!!!

Last night Jason and I had the opportunity of a lifetime - we went to Game 4 of the World Series!! As disappointed as we are that the Rockies lost, the experience of being there for the game was amazing. It was also very nice for Jason and I to have an "adult" night out, which we don't get very often anymore. :)

Jake headed over to our neighbors house for the night, but not before Dad tried to teach him how to say "Homerun"!!

Jason and I took the lightrail downtown, since they were charging between $50-$100 for parking.

Then we met some friends at Breckenridge Brewery for a few drinks before heading into the busy stadium.

Once we were in the stadium we found our seats, which were some of the best you could have - right at third base, about 20 rows up!

We stayed until the last pitch hoping the Rockies might pull through & win, but unfortunately the Red Sox swept the series with a win. What an experience, one that we'll remember for a long time!!

Jake's First Birthday Weekend!!

Jake is now officially 1-Year Old!! It's hard to believe that it's been a whole year since Jake surprised us and came 4.5 weeks early, but we've loved every minute of it and continue to be amazed at how Jake changes daily. He is such a sweet "little guy", whose smile is contagious to everyone around him.

We had a very busy weekend celebrating, beginning with Jason and my 5th Wedding Anniversary on Friday. We haven't been able to celebrate yet since Jason was traveling for work, but he did surprise me by sending me lovely flowers first thing that morning!

Then Saturday, Jake's actual birthday, we started the day off by heading to the pumpkin patch! It was a beautiful day, and Jake had a lot of fun riding around in his new red wagon and watching all the other kids running around. He picked out a few pumpkins to take home with us, and of course "put up" with his Mom and posed for some pictures. :)

Later that day Jason's parents, sisters, and brother-in-law came over to celebrate the big day. Jake was lucky enough to open a few more presents, and of course to have cake again!!

Jake's First Birthday Party!!

This past weekend we had Jake's First Birthday Party, one week before his actual birthday. My sister, nephew, and brother-in-law were very nice and flew out for the party - Jenny & Drew came out a few days early so we headed up to Keystone, CO for a few days to relax before the big party! We had a great time in the mountains, and even found a nice park close by for Drew to run off some energy at. :)

The party was a lot of fun, we had a lot of great friends show up to help Jake celebrate. Jake had his own special cake, which he throughly enjoyed! He also received some really great presents, he couldn't decide which was more fun - opening them or playing with them once they were open! :)

There are lots more pictures from the party, copy and paste this link to check them out:

Stayed tuned next week for more details and pictures of his actual brithday on 10/20!!
