February Trip to AZ

Jake and I decided we needed a little sunshine and warm weather, so we flew out to Phoenix for a long weekend at the end of February to visit my sister & her family. We had a great time, nice weather, and of course Jake & his cousin Drew had a fun time playing together.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day! Jason and I did our usual, fondue at home - though this year we had Jason's sister Rachelle join us. Jake even started celebrating a few days early. :) And Jason, always so thoughtful, brought home beautiful roses & tulips home - my two favorites! We love you all!

Weekend Away!

Jason had a business trip in Orlando this past week and so I decided a few days away in the warm sunshine sounded great... So, I used a free ticket and we went out a day early for a quick get away. Jason and I had a wonderful time, and tried to fit as much in as possible in three short days. The first night we headed to downtown Disney and Pleasure Island, we walked around awhile and had dinner while watching the last quarter of the Super Bowl (what a great game).

In our one full free day we decided to be big "kids" and so we visited three parks in one day...

First we went to Hollywood Studios...

Second we went to Epcot...

And ended the day with the Magic Kingdom.

And of course we did find time to stop and make a call home to check-in with Grandma Sharon who was staying with Jake. :)

Our last night we went to Disney's City Walk, and had dinner & drinks at Pat O'Brions - where it happened to be Fat Tuesday.

A great quick trip for us, but of course we were also glad to get home to see our little guy - who was busy at home re-arranging our cabinets while we were gone! :)

First Swimming Lesson!!

Jake had his first swimming lesson this weekend at our local rec center, and he did great! He wasn't too excited about floating on his back, but loved everything else - from floating on his tummy, going through a hoop, and just splashing around with Dad! We have 3 more lessons to go this month, and I'm sure he'll be a pro after that. :)

Some cute pics...

I haven't posted in awhile as things have been pretty busy and I've been sick with another bad sinus infection... But, that hasn't stopped us from taking pictures of Jake. :) Hard to believe that he is 15 months old, just about 25 pounds, and 32" tall! Enjoy the new pictures:

A playdate with my friend Austin, who is a month older than me!

Bouncy balls on the hard wood floors is one of my favorite activities!

Just hanging out with my friend Ella, who was born on the same day as me!

Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!

Jake had a wonderful 2nd Christmas - which he ended up celebrating three times!! We were lucky enough to spend almost a week with Kelly's sister Jenny, bother-in-law MJ, and nephew Drew in Phoenix, AZ! And even better was that Kelly and Jenny's Dad and step-mom Olha flew out from Los Angeles to spend a few days with everyone! We had a great time and great weather, and were sad to go home... Especially since our flight home was delayed two hours, and we didn't actually get home until 2am - but Jake was a real trooper!!

Then, once we got home there were still more presents to be unwrapped, ones that we hadn't taken to AZ with us. And then a third round of presents when we celebrated with Jason's sisters and brother-in-law.

This year we spent New Year's Eve close to home since the roads weren't great, so we went over to a friend's house who lived close by where we actually made it up past midnight (though Jake was soundly asleep thank goodness), we learned to play Canasta which made the night go by really fast! And then of course New Year's day there was lots and lots of football to be watched!! :)

Jake's Visit to See Santa...

Well, after two hours of waiting in line, Jake finally got to see Santa! (Good lesson for Mom & Dad: go early in December next year!) Jake was very good, and wasn't scared of Santa like many kids in line before him...

He just wasn't sure at first who he was. :)

Here are a few more pictures...
